Understaffing is major problem for California nursing homes

A leading problem for nursing homes across the state and ultimately the nation is understaffing. Recently the Skilled Healthcare Group received a $677 million verdict against them when they were accused of understaffing. According to the record, the nursing home violated state requirements of keeping a minimum number of nurses on staff. Understaffing can be a clear cause of nursing home abuse. California nursing homes are required to keep a minimum number of nurses on staff in order to ensure that residents are properly cared for and attended to. It is important to contact a California elder abuse attorney if you believe that the nursing home you or your loved one is at is understaffed.
