Fall at Nursing Home Leads Elder Woman to Hospital

An 87-year-old woman has fallen victim of elder abuse after the nursing home that she resided in failed to provide her with the proper care and attention.

According to WKRN, Pauline Holt was taken to the local hospital after she fell at the Life Care Center of Columbia earlier this month. Unfortunately, this was not the first time that the elderly woman had fallen while she was supposed to be under supervision. Holt's daughter told reporters that since her mother has lived at the facility, she has fallen 10 times.

Nursing home care givers are supposed to provide their residents with the medical care and attention that each resident needs. This includes making sure that the resident's living quarters are clutter-free, that the resident is taken care of if they become wet or provide additional assistance when moving to and from their bed.
