Nursing Home Abuse Prevention at UCI

Orange County University of Irvine has now become the National Center on Elder Abuse thanks to a generous $1.7 million federal grant.

According to an article on the OC Register, the UC Irvine center will provide a plethora of information regarding elder abuse including nursing home abuse in Orange County, signs of nursing home abuse, as well as was to prevent mistreatment of older adults. The center will receive the $1.7 million over the next three years and will be led by Dr. Laura Mosqueda, director of geriatrics.

Because nursing home abuse in Orange County seems to be on the rise, this federal grant will not only help prevent potential harm to nursing home and in-home residents, but it was also help educate the public on the dangers Orange County nursing home abuse and ways that you can help prevent elder abuse from occurring or becoming fatal.
