Nursing Home Caregiver Jailed for Elder Abuse
A 36-year-old Tennessee woman has been arrested and charged with nursing home elder abuse and will have to serve 15 months in jail.
According to the Johnson City Press, Amanda Tibble worked as a CAN at John M. Reed Nursing Home in Limestone when she was fired for alleged elder abuse. In January 2010, Tibble was accused of physically, verbally and emotionally abusing the elderly nursing home patients. She pleaded guilty to two counts of willful abuse or neglect of an adult and entered a best interest plea for two other counts. Originally, Tibble was eligible for full probation however the judge revoked that eligibility due to the fact that Tibble seemed to be lying during her testimony and could not remember what she had previously told sheriff investigators in her statement.
