Redding Man Arrested for Elder Abuse
A 51-year-old Redding man has been arrested on suspicion of elder abuse after an investigation proved he was physically abusing his mother for several weeks.
According to a recent article on the A New Café, officers received information that a man was abusing his mother and began an investigation on Sunday, October 9, 2011. Officers determined that Kenneth Saunders had been abusing his 80-year-old mother by pushing her down, breaking her tailbone and throwing a large, metal flashlight at her.
Saunders was arrested and booked at the Shasta County Jail on multiple charges including elder abuse, assault with a deadly weapon, felony battery, resisting arrest and violation of probation.
