Three OC Nursing Homes See Boost from Medicare

The New Year might be bringing some cheer to three Orange County nursing homes. According to the Orange County Business Journal, Medicare will be issuing a reimbursement program to nursing homes because of a "favorable reimbursement environment..." These nursing homes located in Irvine, Foothill Ranch and Mission Viejo will be able to treat patients whose reimbursements were previously inadequate. Even though California is having budget problems, Medicare will pay nursing homes per patient day depending on what treatments patients receive. This payment boost will greatly benefit these nursing homes as well as encourage other facilities to provide their patients with extra care.
